    It's normal Tanner.

If you don't have the book "What to expect in the first 6 months", get it. Worth the money on the first one, and it will sort thru the b.s. You hear on here and from the MIL.

    My 2 cents.

Ours was a year and a half old before she slept through the night for the first time.

Your child's ductus arteriosis probably isnt fully closed yet. Some of the deoxygenated blood is bypassing the lungs which doesnt normally cause any issues. But feeding is the only time infants put stress on their cardiovascular system. The grunting is an attempt at increasing positive end-expiratory pressure in the lungs thereby providing more alveoli for gas exchange...and better oxygenation.
If it continues much past 3wks old, have him checked for congenital heart defects.

Grunting is better than crying all the time.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Thanks all, and Dr D. He is always happy and never gives me a shitty face when hiccupping or sneezing. So hopefully thats nothing. As far as grunting, your dang right its better then crying! He started ball blattin when we gave him a bath and whenever we clean his nose out with that suction thing. He has some lungs.

I hate the cries when they are crying hysterically then there is about a 4-5 seconds pause and then it comes back. That kind of cry makes you cringe.

Yes, as in acid reflux. If he spits up a lot combined with those symptoms you might have it looked into, but otherwise he'll grow out of it and should be fine.

LOL, just enjoy him while he's still little and can't move around under his own power. Now is the easiest it will ever get.
