  • May need a plumber in Mansfield (I searched the hook up thread :/)

So my kids are taking their nightly baths and my 5 y/o son yells "DAD!!! THE WATER IN THE TOILET IS GETTING BIGGER!!!"

OH FUCK! What did he do now???

Nothing, the water is just starting to backup in the toilet. I immediately issue a cease and desist order on ALL water activities in the house. Then I check out the other bath rooms/showers. Fuck, shit water has already backed up into the master shower and garden tub...... So, I check the main sewer cut out in front of the house, barely a trickle of water. DAMN! I call around and find a neighbor w/ a 45' hand snake. We start at the drain closest to the sewer line out the front and get about 30' down the drain with some MAJOR struggling. No dice, still barely a trickle. I've made a quick inventory of the house looking for new/larger cracks in the ceiling and/or foundation. (Our house, built circa 1999, has settled a bit, but not a lot and we water our foundation, even now.) So, I'm HOPING it's just a major clog. Tomorrow I plan on renting a power snake from Rental Stop and trying my luck with that route. However, if that fails.....
Does ANYONE know a good/reputable Plumber in the Mansfield area?

Board member would obviously be preferred and someone I can work with on the price maybe? I weld, write software, turn wrenches, and can/will do a lot of the plumbing work, ie. dig, get dirty, etc.

    break out the snake a

Thanks! Yeah, I've been there too. The first house we bought in Indy. The first week we had to replace the entire sewer line from the house to the street. You can get a plumber on a Sunday but you're going to pay out the ASS for it..... $1500 and 3 hours later we had a new sewer line....... Hoping/praying that isn't the issue here!

            I use this guy-

            Joe Hall Plumbing
            9403896684

He has done work both for me and several friends. He's a real nice guy and his pricing is really low IMO. Maybe he was giving me the buddy rate, but either way his work was great!

Thanks guys. Just got a reference from a Teacher at my kid's school to a guy here in Mansfield who volunteers at the school too. He'll be out this afternoon. Name, phone number, and the results pending his arrival. (BTW, he's a professional Plumber.)

Ain't that the truth! I'm REALLY hoping we find a GI Joe, pokemon, or some other stupid thing. I'd be very relieved if that was all that was wrong. I've had to replace main sewer lines before..... Crazy expensive and the damage to the front lawn was visible for years after...... I still cringe thinking about that back hoe and the $1500+ I forked out.

Don't call Kennedale/Mansfield Plumbing unless you bring your own lube.

They charged me $275 to change an outside garden hose spigot that froze and needed replacement, and I did not have the knowledge to fix it.

The plumber told me I was going to be mad when I saw how easy it was, and he was right. It took him 3 minutes to chip away some mortar and then a couple of minutes to unscrew the broken spigot and replace it with a new one. He then said that replacing the mortar was my job and told me it would be $275.
