You got 275 guys running the 1/8 well into the 4's.
I find this to be very impressive, but I still believe that a 1/4 mile is the true benchmark.
We have a 1000' track that is maybe 30 miles closer than the 1/4 mile track, yet no one really goes there.

It's just because there is no decent 1/4 mile tracks in the metroplex."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

it's also easier to get insured, and cheaper to build an 1/8 mile track than a 1/4 track.
More 1/8 mile tracks, mean easier access to drivers.
Also I think with the death of standing stop street racing that happened a while back, and the LS1 highway racers growth, tollway/highway racing has been a lot more popular.

Most people that say 1/8 is boring have never driven a car setup for it that runs well. 1/4 is more fun but just harder to come by around here.-1997 Supra- mid 8 second street car
-1993 Cobra- 700rw
-2012 CTS-V- 9 second daily driver
-1991 Coupe- LSA/TT/4L80 in the making
