      Safer, easier on parts, cheaper to maintain, cheaper to buy land for, etc.

      As fast as cars have gotten 1/8 mile will become the new standard.

              I like the 1/8 mile because its more like a stop light to stop light street race . You can also gear the car stiffer because you don't have to run the second half wich means it should accelerate faster and the tech is more lax .

                Several years ago Gossage said it will never happen because its not economically viable to have a track. Because they wouldn't be able to get events due to NHRA's contractual agreements with Ennis. But that was before the economic downturn. All this summer TMS has been doing 1/8 mile racing which _could_ be TMS testing the waters for a track. I really doubt they will do one

                        My 1/4 mile tracks are 635 or Dallas tollway and one other I'll just let that one stay off this board for now.
