They were super appreciative about it and were sure to take my name and info down and even offered to take me back to the same restaurant that we came out of some other time.

Never heard from them again......... Not that I was expecting anything out of it because I was not.
Same here. I don't help someone because I expect anything out of it, I help people because it's the right thing to do. Plus the added good karma is nice !

Years back, when I was driving my '41 Ford pickup all over the place, I was in a car club called the Road Demons. I was driving from Plano to Sherman one day and saw a car slowing and pulling to the shoulder with a flat tire. I slowed and pulled over in front of them and got out to help change the tire. Just so happened that I was wearing a Road Demons t-shirt. After changing the tire and putting the flat in the trunk, they were thanking me and laughed and said "our guardian angel was a Road Demon today !". I thought it was pretty funny too. They were all dressed up and going to one of the casinos across the Red River and the guy offered me $20. After numerous "thanks but don't worry about it's", they weren't taking no for an answer, and pretty much MADE me take it. LOL !

Agreed 100%. If more people thought and acted like this, the world would be a much better place.

Do you keep trying when they give you the bird cause they think you're a nut? Chivalry does have it's limits. Unless of course it's a hot chick with big cans.

I told someone their brake lights were stuck on. They immediately started fumbling around the dash accessories as if that would shut them off?
          Completely oblivious.

First time I ever had to change a tire on the road was with my horse trailer near Waco. 3 horses in the trailer at 9 at night.

The tire blew and I pulled over and started getting the jack and spare, while people were honking and had a guy throw a cigarette out and spooked one of the horses. I thought at first I was too close to the road but the other side was in the grass, and I had a good 5ft from the white line. While stupid kids were honking I was changing the tire, horses were freaking out. I was getting it done when a guy pulled over and helped me. I had the spare off, so he put the good tire on in 5 seconds, tighten it. I think I told him thank you half a million times, I was never that shaken up in my life.

Told my dad (I was 17 at the time), he said the guy should have watched instead of helping me. Made sure I wasn't a helpless.. rolleyes.

I honestly think it also has something to do with the vehicle a person is driving. I've waved at several people in my beat up little Sonoma pickup, and they ignore me, or do the horse look. But I've also waved at people in my old '66 truck and my wife's car, and they look over and roll the window down.

I don't notice tires being low nearly as much as I notice a brake light being out... seems like I tell one person a week about that.

You should have texted Jeremy to come help change it.

I've stopped and helped several people change tires. I try to alert people to a low tire, or lights left on when I go into a store or restaurant. just trying to help someone out. I would want someone to do the same for me, though it rarely happens. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you (matthew 7:12)

is it odd that i just open their doors and turn off the lights for them?(if the car is unlocked of course.)

Not unless you help yourself to all their spare change in the ashtray.
