  • Who is a body shop/door window/repair guy?

I need some help... don't know what happened, but my wife said that my daughter was in the backseat jacking with the power window and all of the sudden the window wouldn't work anymore.

Opened the door, the coil (as pictured) was sticking out through the end where the door latches to the body so she stuffed it back in and now the window moves freely.

I don't think anything is broken, but I also damn sure don't know how to put this thing back together. Anyone with some expertise in this area? Or a good place to point me towards?

That is a common problem on Libertys. The same thing happened to my wifes. I have done quite a few of them at the shop as well, just need a new window regulator.

Same thing happened on my buddy's wife's Durango. I put a new regulator assembly in it and it was good to go. Didn't take very long at all. Of course, it was about $200 from the Dodge house.

This is a common problem on all cars that use a cable type regualtor.

Ford,Chevy, BMW, Audi....you name it, they all break.....

Ordered a new one on eBay for $122 shipped and found a sporty video on YouTube the shows exactly what to do.

                      Thank you, Al Gore.

One guy that works for me has about an 08 or so liberty. They have replaced 11 regulators, between the 4 windows. Apparently the "Heap" ones are extra crappy. Be warned, you might be doing this often. They only had 3-4 replaced before they got the "new design" that is supposed to be better. He doesn't seem to think there is a difference.
