there are a couple of e36 swaps on ls1tech.com under conversions (just search bmw or e36 in the conversions/hybrid forum).

bimmerforums.com also has a couple of builds i believe.

another "popular" swap is the 2jz into a e36, since the e36 comes with a straight 6 from the factory the 2jz is a very easy fit and they can be found fairly reasonably priced on ebay.

found a 92 e36 4 door with a cracked head in College station today for $1000...he should only be asking 400 to 500 but it's a 5spd car....

Would be funny to see an LS7 in a crappy 4 door 325!
