Another option might be a used Grand National.....might find a rough one at that price point but we found ours that needed head gaskets for about that price. We put a lot more into since then but it's a solid $20k car now.

I just need to drive it more!

Not to mention I would suspect emmisions would be a PITA.

I would prefer a 25 year old car or older for that reason. Otherwise I would probably just do a RX7

Then really anything motor swap based, is gonna be one of those nightmares.

Why not look at something that needs a little TLC, but most of the work has been done. Like your 60-70s car ideas.

That is as long as you are fine with the flaws that may be there, and aren't trying to get to a perfect collector status with the project

Grand National is another good idea. I actaully found a Datsun with a GN swap done for sale locally for $6500. I hear its mechanically sound, just needs cosmetic work done. Im relucatant to jump into another Datsun though, the wife doesnt really like them and I would prefer she be interested in the next project

It was on craigslist, there is an older ad on there but doesnt show any motor shots of it. A buddy called me the other night and told me about it. It belongs to a friend of his.

I bet it's fun, but yeah, needs some cosmetic work, but looked pretty straight.

I still really liked your old one.
