The pro-rated battery warranty is gone. It is now 2 year free replacement, period, anything beyond that and you are S.O.L.. All the while their battery prices will not drop in price because of this, but instead are staying near the same, or more likely increase in price even more. So all in all you no longer have 72 months worth of warranty, only 24 months, of which the last 48 months will no longer be pro-rated.

lolz, what jackass told you that? It is completely untrue, unless you're talking about an Optima, which only has a 3 year free replacement warranty.
Looks like in the case of the shocks at least that the parts guy put it under a commercial account (possibly to give me a "hook-up" since I used to work at this store and I have had instances in the past with them putting it under their employee discount to "hook me up"). This actually pisses me off because I would much rather have the warranty versus 10% off or no tax or whatever the discount was for the bs shop they put me under.
Big thanks to talisman for looking this up (and doing some investigation), I just hope there is a way around this as I'd really like to warranty these things.
They were testing the new battery program in 100 stores to help gauge what the customer impact was going to be and make a decision from there. I haven't heard whether or not they have implemented it in any additional stores other than the original 100 or if they have decided to drop it completely. Obviously your location wasn't one of the 100 picked or you would have known about it.

Probably happening up in Springfield. Interesting, haven't heard anything about it yet.
Keep them out of the car, and out of direct light.
When I bought the Bronco it came with an entire folder of receipts. Some as new as 07 were barely legible and they had spent their whole life in a folder.
