I think O'Reilly's purges their warranty information, anyone else had issues lately?

  • I think O'Reilly's purges their warranty information, anyone else had issues lately?

    In all the times I have used O'Reilly's they have always kept good records of my warranty information (tied with my phone number). As of the last month I have had 3 instances where something I know I have bought under my number has failed to be in there system. As a matter of fact when they look under my number and my buddies number (whom together have MANY purchases) there are only like 7 warrantied items combined. I started to raise hell when the manager chimed in with, "should have kept your receipt".

    So now I am screwed out of a battery, a water pump, and a full set of shocks.

    Trying to get a gauge on if this is just happening to me or if it is a scheme.

      I dont think the problem is with the system as much as it is with the jackass's behind the counter fat fingering your phone number. There is one guy at the Matlock store that drives me crazy. That dumb fuck loves to crack jokes but cant look up parts or ring anything up right to save his ass! Even the other counter jockeys roll their eyes at him.

        Likely scenario. Send in a complaint through the website about him if you have trouble again. The Arlington DM does NOT fuck around with shit like that. That store is about to get a enema after what one of those jackasses did to a customer last week.

                It's too long to type without much payoff, but basically a guy complained about service recieved, DM started investigating, found out the TM had intentionally put in the wrong phone # for warranty, and put the guys name as Punk Ass Bitch in the system...

                    I have been dealing with that store for years (since it was gateway) and most of those guys are real good and knowledgeable except for this one guy. I bet it was him that fucked it up.

                    That being said there are some guys up there that think they know everything and I know that comes from dealing with dumbass customers all day but still. One of the old day guys argued with me one day because I needed a gasket for my old Datsun. He kept saying he needed to know the car I was working on. I told him fine, I have a 73 Datsun with a turbo V8 and need intake gaskets. I have worked that job so I understand him though.

                    Oh and the punk ass bitch thing reminds me of this guy I worked with at Chief Autoparts 10 years ago. He changed the scrolling messege on the register readout to say "sodomize your god" and this old lady freaked out and raised hell. Ironic part was this guys dad was the old man that drove around in a ford ranger with a huge sign and revolving yellow light in the bed saying praise the lord or something like that.

                      I've had the same issue at the hurst store for years. There's an old guy in there too who wont fucking acknowledge you when you walk in and stand at the counter.. he just stands there with his buddies and bullshits with them while looking thru catalogs or just..nothing. I get so fucking furious when he's there that i go down the street to AZ.. and that's BAD.

                            Sir, Datsun did not have that option for that year, so you might want to check with the dealership on that.
