What evidence do you have to support that? I would make the argument that religion ruins society. IE the dark ages....

If you want to be really really in touch with religions effect on society, move to the middle east.

The middle east isn't being affected by religion so much as it is by political agendas hiding behind and subverting religion to secular purposes.

But history has showed us time and time again that that is the way of religion.

Thanks for proving my point brah.

That secular politicos hide behind and subvert religion in some parts of the world? That didn't need to be proven, that's just mankind doing what mankind does when left to his own devices.

I just don't get it. Let people believe in what they want to. As long as they do not hurt anyone else, who cares? But to put ads out promoting against religion is just being an ass.

I dont see the problem either. There are billboards and signs that promote Christianity so if some nonbeliever wants to spend money to post his beliefs, then go for it. However, taking out the ad around the holidays is in poor taste IMO.

Looking at it as a positive... At least people are talking about it more.

I don't know why this promotion is being perceived by some as being in poor taste exclusively against Christianity. Even the good Rabbi in the article falls for that, to wit: "I'm not a Christian, but I cannot help but feel it is done to hurt and to insult," said Rabbi Gary Perras of Congregation Ahavath Sholom in Fort Worth. The slogan preaches "Good Without God" does it not? Last time I checked, Jews believe in the same God as Christians.

The Catholic Church stole the Yule Holidays and Winter Solstice observance from the ancient Pagans. I'm not going to pay any more attention until they give it back.

This thread should have been moved into a religious/theological section after the second post.
