Do parents just spread the word to their kids? Whenever missionary groups go out and say "We'll provide you with food and clothing and all you have to do is attend sermons at this church we're building."

Like I said, whether people want to believe it or not, they push their beliefs on others.

lmao at Atheism becoming its own religion.

Sunday morning at First Atheist of Tarrant county...

" Today we will worship.... nothing. Lets sing our praises to the anti-god." " Please give your tithes so that we may witness to others about the non-existant god"

I know several missionaries and they do aid with food, clothing, buildings, etc.

They do hold services and couselling, but it's still a "come if you want" offer. Most don't go to them on these missions.

Pushing and sharing are two different things. I have gone on mission trips before and provided VBS, food, clothes, housing, churches, etc with no strings attached to the local people. I can only lead by example ( which I fail at way too much) and share the gospel. I can not make you a Christian. I can not make you anything. I can simply show you the tools and hope/pray that the Holy Spirit works inside of you.

I think alot of people view opposing religions as a threat. I could easily do what a lot of non believers do and claim these bus ads are "cramming" atheism down my throat. Instead I will just pray for them that they may one day realize there is a supreme being.

Why, because "Millions of Americans are Good Without God." is somehow damaging to you?

I can respect that. I wonder if my step-mom still thinks I'm gonna burn in hell after I told her I don't believe in a higher power a couple of years ago? I don't really have a problem with religion OR pushing beliefs because I do it every day. Not in a religious sense, but other stuff for sure. If somebody tells me "God bless you" or whatever, it doesn't bother me, because that just means as a person, they wish me well. I personally don't think that the way to world peace lies in everybody believing in one religion as much as it does, as people respecting eachothers beliefs knowing that we've all grown up in different societies and households. I have christian, athiest, agnostic, and jewish friends and we all get along, because when we get together, we're there to represent ourselves as people, not as advocates of our spiritual beliefs.

If God does exist, I am fairly certain that he did not manifest himself as a carpenter who lived 2,000 years ago. Also I doubt that God, as a supreme being, would be so petty as to damn us to an eternity of torture for not worshiping him.

It has been said that religion is the opiate of the masses, and that certainly is the truth. Religion is a hell of a drug, back in 2001 19 dudes overdosed and crashed 2 planes into a set of towers. Shit is not cool.

I dont know another atheist that is so bothered by christmas and other holidays that they would put their own money to put ad's on bus's to piss people off.
                            I agree with you.

But you have pushers on both sides.

The bible thumpers give out church/religious material to children for Halloween, and athiest put ads on city buses. For any belief or non belief you will have the extremist, which ruin everything they are saying they stand for. I don't like people who push anyone to do do anything. Just let people do whatever they want, no need to impose on what other people do.

Can people not mind their own bussiness?

It's these people that the ads are trying to reach by telling them they are not alone and the should not feel the need to be persecuted for being a human being.
Do you feel persecuted by Christians? That is fucking laughable.
