I stripped my house of valuable stuff when it went on the market. I also put a locking doorknob on the hallway coat closet. That was always locked. That's where I put cameras, laptops and other easy to grab items.

They will wait until the car isn't there. A day, a week. I'd unload all valuables. An alarm isn't going to do shit. By the time the cops get there, they will be long gone. Load up the guns, the tv, and anything else of value, and take it elsewhere.

Can you hook up a wireless webcam or something? If you can't be home at least get them on video? Have you thought about which gun you want to use? It's kinda a toss up between "How many times do I want to shoot them?" and "How much money is their life worth?" I personally place thieves life at $4.23 with provisions for an additional $2.12. This way you have enough latitude with an appropriate caliber to "accidentally" blow a gonad off with at least 2 more rounds for center mass.

Move your good stuff someplace safe (relative,friend,etc...) Load the safe down with some bricks or stupid stuff. Get one of those security camera's that look like an alarm clock and set it up . They have the ones that record stills to a card, so its a quick deal. Damn thieves, hate em.
