Man we live so far out in the country, nobody delivers out here. Good thing though - us poor rural folk tend to shoot trespassers on sight just because we think we can.

I hate going out to eat with my MIL. She always makes a fuss over something, sends food back to reheated, complains. More than once I've told the server that the MIL doesn't represent everyone at the table.

If i am somewhere with a server, then yes i tip usually pretty well (10-20% depending on how well the service was) but why should I pay an additional delivery fee to the business plus an additional fee to someone to drive a mile down the street to my house to deliver food when that person is getting compensated for his work? Places have to pay at least minimum wage. As stated before, dont like the job, find another.
But again rarely do I ever get pizza delivered. Honestly cannot remember the last time i did..

I think someone in the original pizza tip thread suggested tipping the equivalent of 1 gallon of gas. So, $3-$4. Seems reasonable and it's what I've started doing.
Tipping as a % of the order total doesnt make any sense for pizza delivery, unless you are ordering a shit load of pizza. It's not like delivering 3 pizzas takes 3x the effort of delivering 1 pizza.
For my daughter's brithday party one year, we ordered a 36" "Party Pizza" from a local joint. The dude pulls up and takes the pizza out of the TRUNK of his sedan and lugs that giant pizza to the front door. I tipped him about $10, I think since that looked like a royal pain in the ass.- Darrell
