Fight on, Warrior. I have such a respect for those who are fighting daily. It IS a fight too. I’ve seen my Dad struggle to stand but refuse to stay seated.
The indignities of illness are gut wrenching.

          Kim,
You touched my heart with the flowers and adorable bear. Very thoughtful making sure it was red LOL I love you too and can’t wait for some Kimmay time. We are home, though his platelets are still extremely low… and they can’t tell us why they won’t stay up after a transfusion. Pulmonary doc says chemo, oncologist says not chemo. **sigh**

Turns out he had pneumonia AND some sort of infection on his heart valve (how does that happen, exactly?) that was causing infection to the lung tissue. Both were cleared up with IV antibiotics and he is in route to the recently sanitized house.

I’m too slow for the fast cars and too fast for the slow cars.

I wish you and your family all the best. I too am a cancer survivor. I had to to get a CBC before every treatment. Neoplastic (Chemo) drugs hammer any fast dividing cells. It's quite common and normal to have a low platelet count during chemo treatment protocol. Age plays a big role as well. I wish you and yours all the best. Good luck.
