I'm going to be on the gulf side, very little to no hurricanes fuck with that area. And besides with a hurricane you have time to leave unlike a tornado that will drop form the sky and fuck your shit up without any warning. Ill still come to visit since ALL of my family lives here, but im off to paradise and still in the continental US...

I just know that I have sold a couple of houses to Floridians that moved here after a round of hurricanes flattened their houses. You can pack your shit and leave, but that house can't go with you. One couple had just finished the restoration from one storm when another hit. They said their insurance (which they were forced to get) was outrageous. I do not remember what part of the state they were from.

Im going to place all of my chips on the Atlantic side. I have friends that have lived on the gulf side, Tampa, St.Pete, Bradenton and Sarasota, they have never had any problems with hurricanes. My house will be new and they are all built with cat. 3 hurricane certified. Besides the pros out weigh the cons. The cost of living is about the same in that area and the gun laws are pretty close to Texas ...'H'
