Look for a "father's rights" attorney. Be ready for things to get uglier than you can imagine. Try to keep you kid out of this, but don't keep everything from them.
Remember, TX is a community property state, and she will get half of evrything that you cannot prove you had before the marriage. This translates into half of everything, and then half of your half. That is a quote from a Tx judge...
Fight for custody, or you may regret it the rest of your life. I do. F@k being amicable, as you will miss your kid growing up.

Oh, uh, sorry to hear about your troubles, OP. She sounds like a nut job. No offense. Did you not know she was a nut job before you knocked her up ?

I am divorced. my divorce went well but I do have some valuable advice. First, try talking your wife into divorcing without the lawyers as they're just a massive expense, for both of you. If both parties (you included) can be adults there is no reason you can't divide the assets and debt evenly. Your child will be more difficult, but trying to reach a conclusion with your exwife without the hired guns will be beneficial for your son, your pocketbook and your sanity. Second, if you have to lawyer up don't bankrupt yourself on the lawyer, but get the best you can afford. Be prepared for joint custody, especially at first. The laws are written in her favor, and both parties lawyers know it. Shop around for the lawyers, check the fathers rights website, ask friends who have been divorced. A lot of lawyers will work with you on their hourly rate. Lastly remember that whatever you say and do to the mom your son will find out about. You will do best to remember this is not a war of attrition. Both parties have a lot emotion involved and compromise will take you far. I know its the last thing a guy wants to hear when his woman has gone off the deep end but try a little empathy, it will give you the advantage if you know what she really wants. Kind of an understand your enemy thing.2012 mustang gt. 3.31 MT

Thanks for all of the advice so far. Yes, we have tried counseling. I have tried everything I can think of to make it work and to make her happy. No, she was not like this when we met. She has always been on depression meds, but everything seemed under control and she was an awesome person to be around. Everything started to change about half way through the pregnancy. I hoped that it was just all of the hormones of being pregnant and would pass.
I have packed up my entire life and moved, twice, for her. I have always been willing to do whatever it takes. But when her only answer to anything is now "I don't know" then I am kind of stuck. I can't make it better if she can't tell me what's wrong.
Honestly, I am squeaky clean. I work, go home take care of my son, go to bed. Repeat. I have not and will not ever cheat, it's just not who I am. I have no desire to "bash" her verbally on here or anywhere else, it's just pointless. I think that we could settle everything without lawyers, but I KNOW that her mom won't allow that. She has to have her nose in every single thing my wife does.
For whoever asked for me to sell the formula cheap...it's actually her car. She's had it since she was 15.

Buy a 55 gallon drum of KY, a 55 gallon drum of whiskey, and bend over and grab your ankles. That's the only advice I'll give.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

To the op, sorry to hear bro. Its especially bad for the kids. My parents got divorced, when i was young. Best advice i can give you, is stay positive around the kids. Dont say anything bad about the other.

BTW, that was for an uncontested divorce WITH children. For a contested divorce, I would agree that you will need to both have lawyers.Last edited by Kenny_Stang; 09-12-2011, 12:51 PM..
