It was my senior year and I was sitting in economics class. When another teacher came in the room and said turn on the TV's. As stated before it was absolutely surreal outside not hearing a single plane in the sky that afternoon during practice.

Selling Kirbys vacuums out of a hotel in Hobbs NM. Joined the AF two weeks later and been doing it ever since. You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

I will never forget that day, ever.
I normally work Sundays but have taken a vacation day tomorrow to watch the ceremonies.
In fact from this day forward I will take 9/11 off, Patriots Day is that important to me just like Memorial Day.

I was in my last semester at UTA. That morning I was going to the on campus clinic for them to look at my ingrown toenail. While driving to campus, they broke in on the radio that a plane of some sort hit one of the WTC buildings. At first they thought it was a small prop plane. As I was beginning to park, they reported the second plane hit. That when we all knew.

I was still in bed till my mom called asking if I was alright. You see we had been in Washington DC on vacation and were supposed to be on a flight home to DFW that morning.....I thank God my wife got sick and we came home the day before.
After that day working for a airline became MUCH more complicated.
So many rules changed, some for the better but most were totally useless and just window dressing to make the sheeple think we were doing something. 9/11 could never happen again the same way. The passengers and flight crew would never allow it.
But it would be so easy for it to happen in other ways........

Driving to work going east on 190 about to go through the toll booths at coit while listening to the Howard stern show, that's when baba booey came in the studio and told Howard about the first plane. I listened to the radio all day to get info. Never saw the tv coverage till that night. It looked like a movie with damn good special effects,it was almost unbelievable.

Ironing my shirt, watching CNBC. I saw the second plane hit live and couldn't believe it. I knew what was going on as soon as it happened though.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I was just getting ready for work when Shane (aka: Mr Evil) called and told me to turn on the TV. It was right about then that the Pentagon was hit.
That sent a shiver down my spine because I had quit working at the Pentagon only a year earlier. It was Shane that talked me into moving to Dallas. If I hadn't listened to him that day I would very likely have been there when the plane hit.

I was laying in bed when we got a call that the first tower had been hit. I got up, hoped on the computer, turned on TV and sat there for hours. My wife was 8 months pregnant and I began to search out delivering a kid without the help of a doctor. I planned routes to help us GTFO without fighting traffic and so on. We left our apartment around 3 or so to get fuel and I remember a line of cars nearly as far as the eye could see, prices had exploded up and people were in panic mode. I went and grabbed around $500 worth of ammo and was amazed at how fast weapons were flying off the counter.
The days immediately following were numb. It was a battle of what next and how adobe move on. But I can say to this day that I am still pissed. Justice has not been served and likely never will. I don't like the direction this country has gone and fear another attack. With the low level of morale, the overwhelming lack of leadership and the self focused mindset of most
Americans I worry that the ripple effect from the next attack with be near crippling.

I was at work at UPS at DFW inside the airport security boundary. Our trucks were not completely loaded yet and we had word of the first tower being hit. We were told a bit later to close up the trucks without finishing and leave the property immediately. We were told not to return to the airport unless we were informed otherwise by our immediate manager.
As I drove out of the building I was on the ramp by the runway and I could hear the sound of jet fighter intakes and as I looked up 2 fighter spiraled down in a steep dive and pulled up just above the runway, making a slow pass as a plain white jet taxied out onto the runway. They circled back and pulled up along side of the jet as it took off and they escorted it to NY. They were the only planes in the sky.
When I got to my delivery area and made my 3rd stop a lady was freaking out at the house I was delivering to. Her husband was in one of the towers and she could not get thru to him on his cell phone. We watched as the 2nd plane hit and I called some of her relatives to come stay with her and I stayed and watched the tv for over an hour. I never found out if he made it.....
On several occasions small private planes would be seen and fighters would dive out of the sky and force them to land, it was unreal.
Late in the day I got word to return to DFW airport which was under heavy security by then but not totally locked down.
I will never forget that day and the huge mix of emotions I felt.....
