My grandfather was a Professor at Columbia in the 50's. He wrote a textbook called The Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Waves. I don't get a single bit of information that is going on inside those covers.
Electromagnetics is a severe ass beating. Especially wave equations.

In his introduction to the book he says it is going to be explained so that a simple layman could understand it. Still didn't help. LOL Wish I would have got to meet him, he died before my parents even met, and they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

I think very highly educated people tend to lose touch with how much intensive studying they did to get where they are. Once they hit enlightenment on a subject, they can't imagine not understanding the simplicity of the concepts. I bet your grandfather would have been an awesome man to get to know.

I'd go to any country for work in a heartbeat. They going to give you a big bonus for this I would hope?

I agree with everything. I bet I could have learned quite a bit from him.
Our company has a plant in Medellin and I have no issues at all going to Colombia. I like the fact that most Americans dont like to go there so it doesnt turn into a tourist trap.
It's better than having to go to India (which I'll be going to for the second time in November)... I'd much rather go to Colombia, at least there I would be able to understand everyone, and the food would be good.
