The "President" of the dfwlx club is a neighbor of a relative. All his neighbors hate him. Completely worthless post, I know.

They get all crazy about those Halo lights, which I personally don't get, but to each to their own. All the modding typically comes down to, demolding/badging, 22 inch wheels, lambo doors, halo lights and stereos with neon everywhere.

Hope you don't mind me stealing that pic from the flyer thread.

Awesome man. I really dig all of the big three muscle cars out right now, and ironically, it took the 10+ Mustang about a year to finally grow on me, whereas I liked the Challenger and Camaro both immediately. It's a good time to be a car guy.

I agree they are one of the best looking of the big 3, but lacking in performance for the money you have to pay. As long as you aren't worried about being the fastest guy on the block with your daily driver, they are nice and comfortable cars....albeit a bit pricey. I rented a V6 Challenger once in Vegas, though, and it was such a turd that it pissed me off....I actually complained about it when I took it back.
As far as Dodge quality goes....I've got to say it's been hit or miss for me. We've had my wife's Magnum for coming on 7 years now, and it's been one of the best cars we've owned. The biggest thing I've had to do was some suspension work....struts, shocks, control-arm bushings, and inner/outter tie rods all at once at 80K....but I attribute that to it being a big fatass and us having to drive a ~7 mile shitty country road to get to or from our house for the past 5 years. Otherwise, it's been great! Has great power for a big turd, and like Steve said above...awesome for traveling. MPG got a lot better after the first ~30K miles on it....consistently around 18 mixed and as good as 25 all hwy. (keeping your foot out of it). We've thought about getting her something new a few times, but every time we end up deciding against it b/c it's been a good car...and of course it being paid for helps too I suppose.
On the other hand...my last 2500 truck was one of the biggest POS I've ever owned. It really sucked getting rid of it too...b/c I loved that truck...MPG, power, towing, offroad abilities, room/comfort, etc, etc. but I just could not deal with the problems and their seeming lack of ability to correct them under warranty any longer. If it had been little quirky issues I'd have lived with it b/c I really liked the truck, but not having AC in a newer vehicle, and having to disconnect the batteries when it was parked more than a few days just didn't seem right to me. But then I know other guys with identical trucks who have never had the issues I had...so like I said, hit or miss.
I suppose that all leads back to the bigger point about there being no good Dodge service facilities out there.....at least I never found one. I made the mistake of going into it thinking I'd be okay with an extended warranty....and I was wrong.70' Chevelle RagTop
