I would love to have one. Sure they are pigs, but I already drive a 2 door pig in a 92 thunderbird super coupe.

12s? LOL!! It might if you stick a JATO to it.

I test drove an 1100-mile used 2010 SRT8 6spd (425hp 6.1) and I was literally shocked at how slow it was. With traction control turned off, it would not spin the tires from a 5mph punch in 1st gear. I'm pretty sure my 4.7 quad cab Ram could keep up with it to 50mph. Asking price was STILL 40 grand.

So I decided to look for used R/Ts instead. I found a Plum Crazy auto R/T at Don Davis with 23k miles. They wanted 34k for that piece of shit! That was two months ago and I heard it's still there, lol.

I'm out on Challengers until they decide to cut the price by at least a third. You can get a base 2012 5.0 that will bust an SRT8's ass for under 27k.

Oh yeah, like everyone else said, they're pretty and they're humongous and you can't see out of them.

I find it odd that all SRT8 owners will kill themselves and others around them to get through traffic and get beside me and want to race the '12. Apparently, the new 5.0 has become the benchmark? I've only been to Mexico next to an SRT8 once in the new car so far, and the end result was not pretty for the Challenger. I'm sure the thought of spending that much for a car that just got walked made his experience all the better. But they do look good though.

i pulled up to one in the vert, and while i am far to mature and responsible to street race, i did notice that man! thats a big car. plus i am sure it would eat my little 5.0 for lunch.

                god bless.

They are cool cars, but I like the new Mustangs more. The interiors are so nice. The ride quality is great too!

I know what youre talking about I tried to make mine anti ricer, but i did add Halos, my car club is in a lot of magazines and i dont get featured because my car is made to look more muscle than show. I recently swapped out the wheels that are in my pic for challenger SRT8 wheels and had them powder coated black.... still lost on the hood if it should be painted flat black or color matched....

You're probably right since I haven't seen one in action at the track. I was quoting the internet which we all know is true.

A guy I work with has one. 300hp v6, drives and rides nice, and does not feel near as heavy as the scales say. I like the look, but would not buy a Dog. His is copper/orange with black stripes and RT(?) wheels. Turning radius is also very good, but it has several blind spots. I think he paid a lot, but he's happy with it.

Well, that isn't the reason I don't reccomend these cars. It's just a side note that is just really lame about meeting other owners.

Yes, so far I'm sure you do, they are fun cars. That is, until you have to take it to the dealership for any repairs. These cars are alot of fun to drive, the ultimate road trip cars. They won't break any speed records, but have enough power to have some fun spirited driving.

Parts are not only, very expensive, but also never in stock anywhere. So repairs take extra long and cost twice as much. These cars are very expensive to maintain and operate.

Dodge also has a drive for excellence to be the worst fucking dealers possible on the planet. Every dealership I have been too, horrid service and they tend to like to take the SRT8's on LONG test drives.

I've enjoyed owning the car for the most part other than the high cost. It's comfortable, great power, perfect for long trips, it even gets good mileage on the highway when your foot isn't in it. Around town, is so-so mileage.

Racing? LOL, don't bother. The guys who mod these cars tend to shit transmission like crazy and they are really, really expensive.

                                Cliff notes :

Fun to drive? Yes. Don't bother with racing.

                                Expensive to own? Yes.
