    lol @ this thread...

Why question the recruiter and try contacting the manager? Do you think the recruiter is pulling this shit out of his ass? Chances are that the recruiter was given these specific instructions by the manager and/or HR of said company.

If they asked or even suggested to wear jeans, wear jeans. I would wear a moderately nice t-shirt that is somewhat new, not dirty, wrinkled, or with holes.

I think you are wayyyy over thinking it.

I would recommend no shoes but instead, wear the Mexican bullet proof suit that was recently posted on here. When the time is right take a steel rod and slam it against your chest. When your interviewer looks at you in awe, explain to him that you want him to stab you with a peice to show its durability.

You know, a lot of people say that same thing. It makes you wonder just how many superior people we have around here!

Truth. I interact with hundreds of engineers in my career, a lot of which I communicate with daily, weekly, etc. Not a single one has people skills, not a single one can handle criticism, be it constructive, or otherwise. They are all pretty fucking worthless.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

A few times, however I was very familiar with the companies I was going to interview with so I already had their info. Call the recruiter then and get a feel of what he/she is saying. If it seems he's feeding a line then go with a dressier approach. This really isn't that difficult.

Exactly, and in my line of work the engineers always become management and the fun never ends!
