  • Wisdom tooth needs to go...no insurance...options?

Have a wisdom tooth that started bothering me a few weeks ago (yes it is absessed), but not having insurance has made it challenging to see a dentist. Coupla days ago it began hurting off and on BADLY to the point that its keeping me awake at night, and alcohol doesn't help. Anyone got any suggestions on ways I could get this taken care of on a budget?

Baylor College of Dentistry on Gaston. They do it cheap. Will be students doing it, but I have had quite a few friends and family go with no issues....

And if you have insurance expect to pay alot out of pocket!

I feel for ya, I have had toothaches that had me in tears! I have great insurance and dental is still expensive as fuck! I can have a heart transplant cheaper than it costs me out of pocket to get a tooth pulled. Dentistry is the biggest ripoff EVER!!!!

My younger bro had them cut out in and out in about 1 hour, he had insurance though. Healed up in 7-10 days. Try some of the smaller dental clinics.

There is an oral surgeon over off Galloway in Mesquite. Does cash discounts. My sister had all 4 of hers surgically extracted for $1000. Same with a friend of mine.

I feel for you, back in August, one of my molars rotted into the nerve. I am a tough SOB, but I was in tears from it. My dentist doesn't have gas, so it was novacaine and me being awake for the extract. Aside from it feeling like he was going to rip my jaw off, I felt nothing, you could have nailed my tongue to a wall and I wouldn't have felt it.

              $100 total lol.

I had one pulled in 1985. Not good. That's why I still have the other 3. I'm having an oral surgeon take them out week after next. One is coming apart and will be a major problem soon if I don't do something.

Based on my first experience, not a bad option.

                        LMAO! Nice Tom Hanks reference.

Join the military. All four of mine were pulled in boot camp, in less than 20 minutes. He had to cut the gums and crack them to remove them.

If it were my teeth I'd go to Dr. Hadley Hall at Park Forest Oral Surgery in Arlington. Insurance only covers about 50-60%, but he's good.
