Another Pit kills a baby

This happens a lot. The media won't get the same attention without pitbull in the headline. Sadly, a lot of weak-minded sheeple lap it up every time, form uneducated opinions, and then spew the bullshit from their own mouths, feeding right back into the whole process.

People who know better, know better. Some people wise up and form new opinions. Sadly, for many, it's not worth the effort to try to shed light on things, because they have their minds made up.

At my old house I encountered to pits running down the street. I went out to great them and like the majority of pit bulls they were very friendly. I brought them up into my yard and gave them some food. About 10 minutes later the cops show up and said they had a call about two aggressive pitbulls attacking people. One of the neighbors had called and reported two dangerous dogs (I blame the media). The dogs go up to the cops and were very friendly with them as well. The cops laugh off the call and tell us that it happens all the time.

The may (ok in my case DO) confuse my pillows with her plushie chew toy. A human baby? Thats a reach. There are dogs that are kid aggressive and it has nothing to do with them thinking they were bought at petsmart.

It used to be Rotts, Dobies, etc. These unfortunate situations like the original post happen with other breeds, but chances are you won't hear about those situations, or the dog will suddenly become a pitbull. You can bet your ass that any time the dog can't be positively identified, it goes in the books as a pitbull by default. Every time. This skews statistics, and the cycle continues.

Regardless of the breed, this story is tragic. The parents are to blame.

There are waaaaaay more good pitbulls than bad, so it's foolish and naive, or just plain ignorant to lump them all together.

I agree 100%. I recently went out to Stephen432094803984's place and when I got there he asked me if I had a problem with big dogs. I said no, but then when I saw them, I have to admit my heart skipped a beat simply when I looked at them and saw what kind of dogs they were - two HUGE Dobie's. He let them off their leashes and guess what, the sweetest dogs you could ever meet.

Dogs are just like people. You can stereotype them all you like based on breed, but you really shouldn't judge them until you have a chance to get to know them. People are just as likely to turn and bite you in the ass as a dog is. But as the same with people, you find a good dog or a friend and they will be loyal to the end.

There are alot of dogs that people dont even think about dalmations are one that is only recommended for house holds with older kids not small children

Very well said. I know this girl that was working for a pet sitting company. Well she went to go see a yellow lab and the lab bit her so bad that she was in the hospital for weeks and now her arm is permanently disfigured. come to find out that lab and bit three other people prior. Why didnt that make the news? That lab is still alive by the way.

I agree with u all for except more good pits then bad. As many low life's and dog fighting rings that are out there I wouldnt think that it is a stretch to say there are more bad ones then good which is sad to say. Still sad story. Parents in the wrong for sure. Don't see anything wrong with dogs and young kids even babies as long as there is adult supervision and helping with the dog to stay clam.

FWIW, I went over to my buddy's shop today, and he had his fucking giant pit bull there today. I'd heard about this dog, but never met it.

it was barking its ass off, but I just walked in like I owned the place, and he was out of sight for a bit and then ran up with one of his chew bones wanting to play! LOL

So which is it?

This is a noticeable pattern from you. You bust into pitbull threads with a hateful, offensive, and frankly ignorant statement. Then someone challenges you on it, and you appear to soften up your stance. The first time, it was nice, because it showed that you're capable of evolving away from the ignorant shit, but then you start from scratch again when it comes back up.

It's like you're two different people. Fwiw, there's nothing wrong with thinking that they're a liability. They certainly can be. It's okay to not like them much, or to think that some of them are bad. It's your original posts in threads like this one where you lump them all together and bash the breed the way you do that puts you in the company of other schmucks on this board who have low intelligence and/or talk out of their ass.
