Just got off the phone with our relatives in Bastrop...they said for NOW the fire is moving away from their house but its only a couple miles away and they have been allowed to return to their house. They sent us the view from their back porch and it looks like HELL off in the distance. Several of their friends have lost everything they have.

I have been in Atlanta Texas all day. From Lake of the pines to jefferson to Vivian is completely gone. There are flames within half mile of Vivian when i just drove through, not a truck in site. Very sad and crazy.

Got back to the in-laws and watched all the coverage on the news for a while. I didn't want to take any chances and cut our weekend short by heading back to DFW early this morning. Did any of yesterday's fires kick back up today?
The Diana fire started moving toward N Longview. As of this evening, they had it mostly contained, but haven't heard anything in hours. The Hallsville fire that shut I-20 down flared up again, but it didn't shut 20 down again. At this point, there are so many fires and so little updates that its scary.

Not to be captain obvious, but man we need rain in a bad way.

If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I know it worse in some places, but it's so bad here that they have no one to dispatch to new fires.

On the way down 20 this weekend we could smell it, and see smoke. Ranger/New York Hill look liked a nuclear bomb had hit. We saw one of the water planes fly overhead....
