No there not actually. Today has been kinda hectic. They are trying to discharge us while our son is all of a sudden not eating like he had been and extremely fussy. When wife feeds him, he falls asleep and soon after wakes up hungry and fussy. He completely off his feeding schedule of 8-11-2-5-repeat. So, we called the charge nurse and have arranged another supervised feeding at 3pm with a BG check. Waiting yet again.

On our last kid, we have the same thing. Wife was discharged but the baby was admitted because she had low Bilirubin. The hospital room "just happened" to have a bed in it for the wife. I had to shuttle in food for the wife, but she at least got to stay in the room with the baby during the entire ordeal (4 days).Originally posted by Tannerm View PostThe hospital let us stay in our room as a courtesy stay since my wife was discharged on Saturday morning!
I pray it all works out well for y'all!
FWIW, IMO don't hold to a firm "schedule" for the baby feedings just yet. The kid know when he's hungry so feed him! There should be a nurse/doctor "expert" on breastfeeding at the hospital/on call so get advice from them. Might want to check into LaLeche, too, for advice. Gotta make sure the kid latches on correctly and sometimes changing the position of feeding makes a world of difference. When things settle down, then adjust the kid for feedings."Self-government won't work without self-discipline." - Paul Harvey

Tanner, sorry to hear of your troubles. I hope the little guy continues to improve. Mine all needed better diagnostics than they came with.

What this guy said. That was our only major obstacle while at the hospital and once we got home is my little one had latching issues. We wound up calling out a consultant after we got home which made the difference. It was a little unnerving leaving the hospital on that 3rd day knowing we no longer have that call button if we have questions or issues.Originally posted by GhostTX View PostFWIW, IMO don't hold to a firm "schedule" for the baby feedings just yet. The first month is the toughest but it gets way better. My boy turns 3 months old tomorrow and it's been pretty trouble and stress free other than him getting a cold over the weekend (which he got from me
).
