Congrats! I can wait for ours.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

Ok late update. Wednesday morning at 4 am he was placed in NICU... He has extremely low blood sugar and body temp. He stayed in there till yesterday. Had a feeding tube in his nose, iv in his head, and electrode things on his chest. It was extremely difficult to see him all "wired" in and alone on a table in the NICU. Baylor gpv's NICU staff was extraordinary. The hospital let us stay in our room as a courtesy stay since my wife was discharged on Saturday morning. He was released from NICU Sunday morning to see if he can handle life without a feeding tube and iv. They checked his blood sugar for 24 hours and he passed. We are finally about to head home! I hate this hospital fold out couch!

Thats great news!! I feel for you, our little guy was born Saturday and was in nicu. He's doing fine now though. And I feel your pain about that fold out chair, well my back does, lol.

Wow, when I read the "he passed" statement, I almost hit the floor.
But assuming he "passed the blood sugar test`", glad to hear that.

It's got to be a beat down for a new parent, not to mention what the baby is going through.

                      Best of luck man.

Are they having you monitor the BG levels any while at home?
I can completely relate to the emotional roller coaster you go through. Both of my kids were in NICU just after birth and it fucking sucked. Especially to see all the other babies who were having a tough time at life.

Nicu was the most depressing thing I've ever see. The 1.5lb preemie i saw broke my heart. Thank god for great nicu nurses.
