You atheists crack me the fuck up every bit as much as the holy rollers. You both spread as much hate and hypocrisy as the other, and you're both too fucking stupid to see it.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

My youngest has always been differant from ever other kid out there. From the time he was young he never worried with playing with other kids and has always been to himself. He is the type that will walk up to someone to hug them, say off the wall remarks, ect....He is very smart but is not socially there and I really think he never will be even once he gets older. We are having him tested soon to see what exactly his "Label" will be as much as I hate to...He recently got in trouble at school for making a comment to a student that landed him in deep trouble at the age of 11...As a parent I can not allow this to happen so home schooling will be the answer for now...
Just looking for what others have used for home schooling to get this started....

I have a hard time believing that ANY parent (especially on this forum) can teach a kid multiple subjects better than a staff of teachers. Kids that are taught correctly at home can avoid the classroom distractions. You can't hide your kids from everything.

Originally posted by Avery'sDad View PostHomeschooling is for parents that want to continue to feed their kids full.of lies.and essentially brainwash them because the parents themselves don't even know they are brainwashed and part of the problem. Hence is why 99% of the books are religiously based.
Originally posted by LANTIRN View PostAnother vote against home schooling; I have two cousins who were home schooled and their son is socially retarded. He went to college, and now has a job in the oil field and still has no idea how to interact with people, even with family. The daughter fared slightly better, but that is only because she spent half her time NOT listening to her parents. Even though she has tried to be normal, she is still missing something with social interaction, just not as bad as her brother.
If you want to avoid the public school route, find a good private school if you can afford it. Most of those are religious based, but are no where near as bad as the private curriculum; ie they actually teach real science. I looked at my cousin's junior high "science" book and the section about how planets and stars are formed was literally "God made them". It also had dinosaurs living with man, but not in a Jurassic-themed park.

That aside, most parents would struggle with some aspect of teaching all of the subjects at higher levels, I agree. That's why they have co-op programs.
