I don't understand how it takes some people that long or longer to get a damn divorce. I know you have custody issues, but fuck-couldn't they divorce you THEN deal with the custody issue?? I don't get it. Mine was 61 days on the nose from the time I filed. Done. I would either be in jail or dead if it had lasted that long.

64 days here. And that was about 63 days too long. I would have moved to a different country if I had to wait 2 years.

No doubt! There is only family court in Ellis Co and only one judge. Huge backlog of divorce/custody cases. Judge ordered a case study (glorified book report) that took me some time to pay for ($1200 each). Then our judge moved up the chain. My ex hasn't complied with the discovery portion of the case. Judge ordered mediation and it was unsuccessful. But it looks to be wrapping up at the end of next month!

On the contrary, I enjoy ample time with my children as I have joint custody. But I appreciate your thoughts on the matter. Trust me sweety, I've been there done that with the family court system. I've dropped almost $20k ensuring I don't get screwed with the every other weekend job.

You do realize that dropping $20k on a custody order doesn't mean she can't take you to court to modify it, right?
