Airlines will reimburse usually up to like 300 bucks.. but that's if they lose it. I tihnk you can file a complaint with TSA, but doubt that'll get you very far. I haven't ever heard anything about the multitool those crooks took out of my checked bag a few months ago.

What do you mean by 'broken into'? If your luggage is locked then you have to use the approved ones that they have keys for anyways.
You might want to read the policy of the airline you flew with but I don't think you'll get anything. I know several folks at my work that have had things stolen from their luggage and they didn't get shit.

I've had mine opened before.... But they left a nice note in the bags as to why they opened them... I flew from Houston to Pittsburgh. They did it there and back. I had bowling equipment with me which is why though. Wasn't aware you could be reimbursed for it though.

Kind of what I figured. It was a nice northface water proof duffel that was basically filleted open and several items including my work boots are missing. I'm presently on a Semi sub off the coast of Ghana. And will not see what all is missing till tomorrow. Oh well I'll see what my company will allow me to reimburse.

Apparently according to my office when the driver picked it up someone sliced the side of the bag open and wrapped brown tape around it.

Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor, but every once in a while... it's a dildo. Of course it's company policy never to, imply ownership in the event of a dildo... always use the indefinite article a dildo, never your dildo.

Did you have a TSA approved lock on it? You can't fly with anything that they can't get into, other than a firearm. No need to cut it open if they had proper access.

Theft out of bags checked is very common. Anything valuable that's easy to steal I don't check. This happens constantly.

Trust me I travel all to often that I only use a TSA approved lock. I have a feeling it happened sitting at the airport waiting for the Rig operator to pick it up. Or at JFK where it was left due to a delayed connecting flight.
