I have been to both this year as well. Ft. Worth is still the better choice with what it has to offer. The crowds suck tremendously though. The Dallas Zoo, while it has changed for the better, is still not in comparison. The "African Giants" is merely a similuted sahara overlay with Elephants, a couple of warthogs, zebras, gazelles, and maybe a hippo or two.

Either of them have a petting area for the little ones?

I was at the Ft. Worth Zoo last week and it rocks. They do have a petting area with a young longhorn, a pig, and goats. I'm not sure if that's all they ever have, there are more pens for more animals.

I'm late, but FW Zoo has a petting area with the pig, chickens, etc. They also have a petting area where you can pet a stingray, starfish and other sea creatures. If you go during the week it's not bad at all with the crowds.

                Except for half price Wednesday.

The Dallas Zoo has a better Cheetah and Meerkat exhibit, other than those the FW Zoo solidly trounces their ass at everything else.

I liked the FW zoo but it seemed small compared to the Houston zoo... It was really nice though and seemed clean and well organized.

I've been to both Dallas & Ft. Worth. Ft. Worth Zoo is a lot nicer. A better family environment.

Ft Worth is noticeably better than Dallas, plus you're less likely to get jacked around the Ft Worth zoo. I'm a reptile lover and Ft Worth has an award winning exhibit.
