I disagree, it's to keep crackheads from coming in and buying needles to shoot up with. Even though they still get them from other places.

So it makes it harder for people that legitimately need them to get them, and doesn't stop the crackheads. It's just as ineffective as gun control.

If legitimate people need them they should already have prescriptions for them. Or diabetics, people using insulin can buy them from most places just showing their insulin vial with their info.

Also, you'd get many trying to buy syringes for steroids. From kids to adults. Don't think you want to make it that easy for some 16yr olds to get needles from their local pharmacy.

There are not many LEGIT reasons people need syringes to begin with. Draining a hematoma could have been done with with a sewing needle and squeezing it.

Lets hear all the wonderful legit reasons someone would need syringes outside of prescribed uses.

Drug users use dirty needles... unlimited access to clean needles encourages drug use. A box of insulin syringes is cheap...$12/200 or so

as for the feed store, good luck jabbing that huge oil pipe of a needle into you. they dont usually carry the small ga. ones.

Clean needles don't encourage drug use any more than silverware encourages obesity or guns encourage crime.

Addicts are going to get needles, clean or dirty; fatties are going to eat; and people are going to commit crimes. If anything, the unlimited access to clean needles might slow the spread of disease...

Last time we ran out and had to stop at an Albertson's it was about $7 for a package of 10.
