  • Buying tickets online/ACL

I've never bought tickets online, and it makes me a little nervous. I have been to a handful of major concerts, and seen people get stopped at the gate with fake tickets.

Does anyone have any experience with "StubHub". I'm trying to see Foster the People in Dallas on sep 15, and Empire of the Sun in Austin on Sep 17th. Both show's are "sold out", so I have to use some online bullshit website, and I'm not too excited about it.

BTW, both are playing Austin City Limits, if anyone on here has tickets please let me know, although I don't know if I could afford it.

September is going to be a good music month. I'll also see Drive-By Truckers this week, and Hank 3 sometime this month too.

Stubhub is a legit site - I believe they have precautions against fake tickets.

My Dad used it last year for our tickets in Atlanta and I think for our playoff tickets in Arlington.

Thanks man. I'm really looking forward to this month.

Fucking FTP tickets are $100 each.. In the 90's I saw the fucking Rolling Stones for $70. $100 is a tad steep for some new group.

I've bought tickets on stub hub for both concerts and sporting event without any issues.

Ebay owns stubhub, you'll get raped but the tickets will be real. It's a crappy system designed to line the pockets of resellers and screw consumbers but it's still legal.

I bought 2 $4 preseason tickets for a Cowboys game from Stubhub a couple years back. I got them ontime quick and they were exactly as expected. ALthough after tax and shipping and "convience" fees, I think I ended up paying around $28 instead of $8.

Fuck, convience fees. $100 is already a lot, I may look at CL, but I could see getting shafted pretty easily..

Agreed. Have you tried anywhere else? Perhaps Ticketmaster?

I'd almost be scared of CL as well. Maybe eBAY?

Hank 3 is playing Trees on 9/16, I seriously doubt it's going to sell out though so I'll buy my wristband at the door. I don't even think he sold out Lola's last time he was in town. He's releasing 4 albums next Tuesday though, all on his own record label. Tom Waits and Les Claypool collaborated on a few songs. Hopefully they sell like crazy.

Stubhub gets 25% of any sales through their system and the convenience fees. It's a ridiculous racket.

Sorry man, they put on a good show. I saw them when I lived in Colorado too. It's a bit longer drive than if I was to see them in Dallas, but this is a bar, rather than a theater in Dallas. I'm bringing a vinyl for them to sign if I see 'em after the show.

I'd be more skeptical of ebay than I would CL. I've bought tickets off CL one time, and had no issues. I may end up doing that.

Yea, I'm pretty excited about the 2 of those. I couldnt care less about his metal shit, and the "cattle-calling" album is garbage. There is a link of his site that lets you listen to the whole album. Kind of a waste.
The two country albums could be amazing. He's said he's been holding back for quite some time, and his last two albums with curb were to just finish out his contract, he didnt want to make them any money, and was saving the good shit for NOW.
I've seen him 4 times, and every single show he has talked shit about CURB (former label)

Atleast with craiglists you could likely find someone local and meet up and see the product so you don't get jipped. I always make sure on eBAYto check the seller rating and feedback before I buy anything.

He officially encouraged people to bootleg them and give copies to everyone and told people not to buy anything. It'd be hard to get any more outlaw than tricephus. He's a heck of an entertainer.

If ebay owns it they screw the seller and the consumer in order to line ebay's pockets, lol.
