Originally posted by Special K View PostI went to Rothbart too, its been almost 3 years. I had an obliterated disc and a herniated disc above it. The shattered disc had blown out into my spinal canal and I lost the feeling and vertical movement in my left leg and foot. Funny thing is that a blew off the back pain for a long time but started having the most severe pain in my left foot and realized that I had no feeling in my toes and up to my knee. Rothbart asked me to stand on my tip toes on the left at my first consult and nothing happened. After surgery I did not get back the sensation and still have some problems with my lower back, but still MUCH better than before. Best of luck.

I had forgotten about this thread. I went through 8 weeks of PT, which helped quite a bit. After the first of the year, I started seeing a chiropractor. It has made a huge difference in my daily function. I am still no where near the physical capacity I wish I was. Some basic tasks are painful, I can't move more than 10 or 15 lbs without it hurting. I am quite a bit more active than when I had previously posted here, and most pain is tolerable without meds.Originally posted by LeahBest balls I've had in my mouth in a while.

my wife had a disk shaved in her lower back when she was 22 she is now 27 and laying in the hospital waiting to see what they are going to do. She had alot of pain and tingling in her right leg again. One doctor she went to said the disk is resting on the nerves. any info or guidence would be great. Sorry about the spelling.

I am 8 weeks post op after my anterior lumbar fusion. The scar tissue made it impossible to reach from the back do they went through the front. The searing pain is gone but sensation and muscle control is still impaired. Luckily it is something that no one would notice but I have to be aware of. For example I tripped by kicking my own foot out from under myself!
