You did the right thing. Her disposition should not be your discomfort. She may not have made the initial decission to get fat but she should have realized when she was 200 that she needed to loose some damn weight.

    Denny
I just upgraded my Dubai to Dallas flights the other night to Delta's upgraded seats. 50% more leg room and 50% more recline for $160 round trip. I am so much looking forward to that. 7 days to go, yoohoo! And I have all window seats. Fuck the fatties but I will give up a seat for a familiy, only if it is a like seat or better of course.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

WTF was Haji doing with nail clippers?!?!

Yep. $160 is a hell of a deal for that. My flight is free, so $160 out of my pocket is nothing.

I go before I sit, pop two Tylenol PMs on top of one beer and I am out for 14 hours of the overseas flight into Atlanta from Dubai. I have had people comment "how can you sleep that well on these flights?". Better life through medicine is my usual answer. Now I do wake up slightly dehydrated but I pound water afterwards once I get off the plane.

United's Economy Plus is $150 each way but the check in counter has the descretion of giving it as a free upgrade which I gotten twice.

I had something similar happen on a flight once.

I looked at these two folks I was going to sit between and said " I requested a window seat because seeing the horizon out the window helps keep me from getting motion sickness. Ill give this seat a shot, maybe I won't barf!" It was amazing how quickly my seat opened up.

My ultimate flight experience was several years ago. I can't remember where I was going, but the flight was 100% full, no empty seats.

I'm near the back of the plane where the cubby for the flight attendants is, so there are no seats to my left, just the jump seat and service area. I'm in the aisle seat, this woman in her 40's in the middle, and another middle aged dude in the window seat.

Flight starts off normal, the woman and dude start making small talk about their kids, spouses, jobs, etc. After a bit the dude pulls out some of those mini liquor bottles from his briefcase and they start drinking. Mid-way through the flight they are going at it like a couple teenagers making out for the first time! I mean going at it, his hand up her shirt, everything. I was right there next to it with nowhere to go.

The flight attendant next to me was in disbelief, everyone around was watching and heard all of their conversation. So awkward.

After we land he says it was nice to meet you and that was it. They didn't exchange numbers or anything.

How can you go from talking about your kids and marriage to second base in 1 hour? I guess the dude had skill or something. I have never been so happy to get off a plane.

It's amazing what you can accomplish with a captive audience that also happens to be slightly out of their comfort zone. You probably could have joined in!

I would have conceded the window seat because, in an emergency, I'd hate to get stuck behind a 400lb fatty during an evacuation. Especially one with a handicap. Depending on my mood, I might make the reasons behind my decision known.

I gave up a window seat on a 9 hour flight once because the person in my seat was there because someone was in their seat, and so on... It was a clusterfuck, and the flight attendants weren't particularly interested in playing musical chairs with a bunch of people.

She starts with immunizations for young kids etc., I had to explain how that's for diseases that are contagious, you cannot spread cervical cancer.
The majority of cervical cancer is caused by HPV. The vaccine isn't to protect against cervical cancer, it's to protect against several strains of HPV that cause cervical cancer.
