Since most of my flights are paid for, I try to stick to Emirates just to avoid riff raff.

She asked if everyone in TX loved him... I said no, he has ruffled some feathers with toll roads and the cervical cancer vaccine. She starts saying how she thinks the vaccine is a good idea, people should do it, they'll live longer etc. I said, that may be, but it's not the governments place to tell anyone they have to inject something into their bodies. She starts with immunizations for young kids etc., I had to explain how that's for diseases that are contagious, you cannot spread cervical cancer.
Then she starts attacking my employer on how we should make our products healthier and that the government should regulate their calorie and sodium content. I said f that, people can buy healthy food if they want it; no one is forcing them to buy our products. Let the market decide, we really need the government telling us what we can and cannot eat?
Then she brings up health care... and what I thought about it. I said its bullshit. I have health coverage, and so do 9 out of 10 Americans. Why do we need to cater to the 10% who don't? She said it's not their fault. I said BS, get an education, read a book, move to a better economy, whatever you need to do to pursue more gainful employment.
WTF. Why in the hell would you want to talk so much politics with a complete stranger? Especially one who was opposing views. I could not wait to get off the plane; she was annoying the hell out of me.
Not just the liberal politics, but she kept hacking up phlegm. Like major hacking the entire flight. Yuck.

I usually like the aisle seat just because my legs are a mile long and having my knees shoved into the back of another seat for 3 or 4 hours isn't my idea of comfort. If I'm lucky enough to get an emergency exit row seat though, I'd prefer the window. I see nothing wrong with what you did. You planned ahead; they didn't.
