Learning about other religions has been a hobby of mine since I started college. I gave up arguing with followers, and decided to learn more about their beliefs. For some reason religion has always facinated me.

While I myself am an athiest, I don't think any religion is necessarily better or worse than any other.

I mean Christians had the crusades.

But I agree with racrguy. As long as she's teaching the material she is supposed to, I dont see a problem, now if your child comes to you at 5 claiming he wasn't to join the church of Islam. I could see a problem there.

Granted, you aren't there to see what's being taught, but at that point you've got to leave it up to the administrators to make sure she's following the rules. Are ya picking up what I'm putting down?
Yup...but there are a few assumptions in your logic. What happens when he does something wrong in class? There isnt a curriculum to follow on how to redirect a child.

Dave is thinking right here. How can you tell a kid who knows how to make bombs to go to their room when they get in trouble?

                "Go to your room"

"fuck you , you medical dick. I dare you to start your car in the morning!"

Sure there is, right and wrong transcends religion. Schools have rules that children must follow, and ways to punish them when they break the rules.

If it is a big deal for you, why not put him in a private Christian school? I'm not sure why your wife wouldn't understand your concerns, even of she didnt agree with them. Of you want your child raised with Christian values, and you think that this teacher can't do that, tuen you are definately within your rights to find a teacher you think will.

I still think you are overreacting until she proves she cant, but it is your kid.

So, let's say for the sake of argument your sons name is Billy. Little Billy bites Suzie. Said teacher walks up to him and says "Little Billy, you should bite Suzie harder because Allah says that women are supposed to be subservient to men." I really don't think that's going to happen. There are guidelines she has to follow regarding discipline. Not only does she have to answer to you for how she does it, she has to answer to Suzie's parents on how and why she was bitten, and what actions were taken to avoid that from happening in the future. I think you're being a bit 'noid on this one.

That was my choice as well because there wasn't an "As long as she's doing her job correctly, who cares?" option.

He's just afraid that if his kid swipes someone's cookies at lunch, the kid will lose a hand.

Or if called upon in class to answer a question and gets it wrong, the kid could be stoned to death by all the classmates with Legos.
