Grocery stores the new hang out hot spot?

Been meaning to make a thread about this for awhile. At least in Tom Thumbs, I've noticed they have created a large cafe style area with tables and chairs in the front of their stores, with wifi. I've been in there at midnight and there are people sitting there(that don't work at the Tom Thumb)diligently dicking with their laptops, or hanging out with a couple of friends, just... sitting there. Is this the new crazy thing those nutty Gen Yers are getting into? Have any of your BROS ever asked you to come chill in the produce section? Bewildered minds want to know.

it is nothing new....people do this alot. When I lived in Tyler, one of the Brookshires there had a bunch older guys that would come every morning during the week for coffee and breakfast. They actually had a name and pics on the walls ....The Breakfast Club

Noticed a similar thing but at the 7-11 around the corner from my house. It's 5:00 am and there is this group hanging out in front of the door. I mean I haven't had my cup of coffee yet and I've got to cut through these clowns to get in the store.

I've hung out at Central Market with some people a few times. Buy some beer and tapas type foods and sit on the patio and eat and drink. They'll have events with live music and other nonsense occasionally.
