at that age it really is brainwashing. i'd have a talk with the grandparents and tell them that she is to young to understand the b/s that they are feeding her (in a nicer way) and to put a stop to the religious teaching.

tough call, but if you feel they're brainwashing your kid i think you know what the right choice is.

It's hard turning down free child care, but this will save both you and your daughter lots of issues in life. You know this.
Props to you for not wanting to keep her from her grandparents, that's the right thing to do. I would supervise her interactions with them as much as possible, and certainly don't allow her stay for extended periods alone.
Good luck my friend.

Sometimes you have to be most aggressive with family.

LOL. She was already "shunned" when I met her.
Easier said than done. They have been there through the birth. And with my divorce from the ex. I feel like I would be stabbing them in the back. I think I will just have to just take some time on this one.
Yes, it sux that it's family, but family should care enough not to stab first. One good stabbing deserves several in return.

I think the thing that scares me the most is if I confront them and they dont stop but make it even harder for me to find out that they are giving her a guilt trip.

They lied to you and did so maliciously. What else are they lying about or not telling you? Sounds like the grandparents want nothing more than to turn her into on of their kind. If this was my daughter, pledge of allegiance aside, I would keep her far away from them from now on and work hard to undo what they've already done. People who would lie to you about what they're doing with your child < *.

my daughter just started KG, and i want her to be as mainstream, follow the "norm" as possible, kids shouldn't be exposed to civil disobedience (i know you're not saying that) and esp. not that JW crap at 5 years old, or for as long as it can be avoided - ignorance is bliss, and when we were all kids, we were a lot happier and less jaded because we didn't know any better, and times were good -
Yep, that's true too. If I had kids I'm sure my views on a lot of things would be different.

Don't get me started on those assholes.
