I always cast netted for my sunfish. Also use barbless hooks if you are fishing for your tank.

I kept some fingerling black bass for a year or so, those fish were awesome! I fed them feeder fish from petco and they would absolutely gorge themselves.

Get a dovii or a characin. Dovii have been known to eat pirahna in the wild and characin are a major predator of pirahna. Dovii does have 2 i's and I might have spelled characin wrong. Youtubing both will yield good info. I have owned a dovii, several oscars, peacock bass, water cow, dragon fish as well as moray eals and others. Get the characin if you want the ultimate fish.

got two small small mouths tonight.. they are about 3-4" and a sunfish similar to the one above! the tank my still be cycleing so they might not survive.. this is just my test run at the aquarium thing.
