Check with your local golf courses, and any parks that have ponds. Golf course ponds are always packed full of hungry bass that hardly ever see any kind of bait. Alot of them have tons of bluegill too.

cedar hill state park has a perch pond. when you pull in ask for a map and it shows where it is. if you dont mind a small drive i would go to lake waxahachie instead of joe pool. all the times i have been to pool this year have been a bust. last time my dad and i went to waxahachie we caught 10 a piece that were keepers. we were down by the damn and they were hitting everything we threw in.

I went to Richland Chambers last week and between me and a buddy, we ended up keeping 73 sand bass, and 9 catfish. The fish seemed to be biting more in the late afternoon than the evening though.

Was this during one day or the whole weekend?

My buddy's parents live on the lake. We got down there about 6 in the evening and went out till dark. The next morning we fished from about 7 am till 1 pm. We could have kept more, but our cooler was completely full.

thanks for all the suggestions guys... went to Joe Pool and was planning to go to the little beach area by the boat dock... Went into the marina to get some worms and noticed they have an "indoor fishing" for only like $3 for kids. We didnt go to the "inside" but just fished off the dock outside at the Oasis area... kids caught a few fish and a turtle!
