My iphones had Wifi tethering too with MyWi.. i think you haz reading problems. My main gripe with AT&T while I was with them was the fact I was paying 180-220 a month for 2 iphones, and dealing with terrible service, and if i had service, it was slow as fuck. Do you work for AT&T or something?

i had sprint for almost 10 years, went to ATT about 6 months ago and i will never go back to them...

oh and every 4g evo/android type phone i have played with still lagged big time compared to my fucking old ass 3g(not 3gs) iphone. i had a htc hero and it was the laggiest(lol sp?) piece of shit in the world, when it wasn't lagging it was nice but it fucking lagged and froze all the damn time. when they fix that issue i will try them out, until then i will keep my lag-free 3g

I can surf and talk. I can go longer than a week without a phone charger. How? I can actually CHANGE the battery! lol.
I can sync my music with itunes. Also, I can even change memory cards, up to 32gb of memory!
Most apps are free. I can tether internet from my phone to laptop for free. i pay $70 per month for unlimited EVERYTHING. My phone can also be a wifi hotspot. It can use 4G. I has a BETTER camera and camcorder. HDMI output. Sprint protection plan in just $7 per month and includes theft and loss. I can use multiple browsers from other companies. Can use other media players. Facetime is free. what else?

Hell, my Galaxy S tends to kill IPhones. I think the last one I put it next to was the 3 and Sprint was beating them hands down. And my plan is MUCH better than anything AT&T has to offer. Oh wait, there's more....AT&T throttles heavy users while Sprint doesn't.

HTC has a bunch of crap on top of the Android OS on their phones, and then Sprint piles on their crap. I've got a Captivate with a custom ROM and I prefer the overall experience to my iPhone 3GS but the iPhone GUI is much smoother and more refined (not to say that my Android UI is laggy or glitchy, iOS is just that fucking smooth).

i got the htc hero cause before it came out everyone was like "OMGUD THIS IS GONNA KILL TEH IpHONEZ!!!!111", i got it for a good price but was disappointed with it within a week. why i kept it so long i don't know

i have came across someone that had an andriod that was like yours and had all the bullshit off of it and he had modded it or changed it to his needs. it was leaps and bounds better than the hero i had but like you said still wasn't as smooth as my 3g

if i had my own computer and the smarts to get a 4g android phone 'stripped down' and running right i would becuase the lack of customization(sp?) on the iphones sucks. i wont ever jailbreak mine because everyone i know that has done that has had to reset their phone at least once
