Well...ended up going to some places she wanted to go to, but still had a great weekend.
Fly into LAX (free flight, don't mind the drive) and rented a new Lincoln Mkz...nice car, actually. Roll down to Newport Beach and stop by my buddy's house to pick up a 1/4 of dank and a pre-rolled fatty for the drive down to SD. Beautiful drive down the coast with the windows down and music up enjoying the 67 degree weather.
Checked into L' Auberge in Del Mar and had an awesome lunch on the patio. The hotel itself was pretty fuckin pimp, if I do so say myself. Ocean view room and all.
Get changed and go pick her up and head down to Pacific Beach Shore Club for some Red Bull/Vodka slushys. Awesome people-watching down there! Then headed downtown to Nobel Experiment, an old speakeasy that's hidden behind a false wall within another resturant. It only seats around 30 people and you can only get a reservation by texting and then showing up with the password at the right time. They had some cool specialty drinks and it was a cool vibe overall. Hung out there for about an hour and then dropped her off so we could change.
Went to a really great tapas resturant called Costa Bravo and had an incredible meal. We were gonna go downtown SD and check out some Irish pubs in the Gaslight District, but my hotel had a really cool and popular lobby bar and outdoor area. So we decided to just go hang out there. Had an awesome time and I ended up bringing her home the next morning.
Pick her up yesterday morning and had brunch at Brockton Villa in La Jolla. Walked on the beach for a bit and then went back to her house for a quick "nap" before I had to hit the road. Lit up a pinky-sized blunt and hopped on the 5 North. Easy drive and flight home, and was in bed by 1am.
Pretty cool chick. She's going to plan a trip to visit me here soon, and then maybe I'll try to get back out there in the Fall or whenever the weather turns colder here. I really liked SD, so now I've got a good enough reason to visit every now and again.

Gaslamp, not Gaslight. Sounds like you had a great time. PB is definitely good for people watching, not a bad beach to have a good time at either.
My suggestions were more family chill type things. If chillin' at the bar is your thing, then you made the best of it.
