  • Handling a Dallas Ticket, ???

About a week ago i got popped for registration being out. Lets just say it slipped my mind, and not being able to see through the dark blue backing prevented me from noticing it was out.

Anyways, i went and had the registration taken care of that day, but now i need to address the ticket. I've tried calling the 214# on the ticket, but that's a worthless machine that never gives me the answer to the question i need in clear enough terms:

Do i need to schedule an appointment to see a judge/whatever to see about possibly having it waived, or is there a specific room to go to and any point in time during their open hours to have it taken care of by waiting in a line?

I would keep trying to locate a phone number until I talked to someone and knew exactly what to do

Exactly. i've got a better chance of nailing a sober, living, Amy Winehouse. She's probably be living before she'd be sober though.

Saw it, set it aside for next pay period, forgot about it. Stick to the sports section.

LOL, Dallas Police > Magpuss FTW.

You go to the court specified on the citation in person, in advance. You don't do it over the phone or need to call for instructions, you go and request a dismissal.

Did you tell them you had gotten a ticket when you got your registration? I think they usually tack on the "fee" then and you just take it to the court clerk to get it dismissed. At least that's how it used to be.

^^^ This. When you do your registration they ask if you got a ticket. You tell them yes. They will give you like a $10 fee. After that you go to the court clerk and it should get dismissed and you may have a small fee there too, not sure.

You will need to go up there. No one is going to do it over the phone as you have to bring your proof with you.

Yeah, so just drive over to the court clerk listed on the ticket and bring the registration receipt and you should be good to go.

And like Machx2 said, they may charge you a $10 or $20 fee as well. It's been a good 6+ years since I had to do it but that's how I remember it.

Oh, and Leah complained about the sticker that you can't see through in the past as well, but the new one she just got the blue backing is only on the border so you can see through it from the back.

This all reminds me, my registration is due this month.

A goddamn maze. Horrible directions, and an elevator that skips the 3rd floor.

I went through the first set of crap in the main lobby, 1st floor i guess. I was told to go to room 217 on third floor. This was a red flag already, since normally room numbers begin with a number representing the floor. Got to 3rd floor for room 217? Ok 80 year old barely english speaking asian woman, i'll do that.

Jump in the elevator, hit the number three. . . . elevator goes to the 4th floor.. . . hmm, ok, lets hit number 4. Door closes, and reopens on the 4th floor. Now, lets forget that the 4th floor looks like a burned building/homicide scene that was cleaned up poorly, and that it made me feel jason/michael/freddy might suddenly come around the corner of the door and fucking end me. I hit number 2 for shits and giggles. It brings me to the second floor, where immediately in front of the elevator there are rows of tiny red plastic chairs full of southern dallas metroplex residents all staring at me as the door opens.I stare for a second, grab my cell phone, and start to text out my last will and testament.

head back down to the floor labeled 1, ask the front desk soon-to-be retired or handicapped cops where the specific room is, and he tells me to go back into the elevator, go to floor 2, and and go left.

From there out, it was easy peesy, but wtf is wrong with that place? if i wanted to camp out on the 4th floor, i don't think anyone would ever know i was there until the stench from my dead body got too strong and finally overpowered the frequent attending wild life.
