My dad earned $15/hr for the last 20 years and raised two kids on it... in fact, they both still live with him. Do I think he could do it? No f'ing way. Can I do it? Yeah, because I haven't offered for those tit suckers to come live with me.

That's why I drive a fucking Kia everyday for years now.

Saving quite a bit even now.

That's why it's hard for me to just go out and buy a $28,000+ car, I hate seeing money go.

um no, that would be your agreed upon hourly pay............ them matching what you give back is unearned income

Yes, you do. You pay the interest charged on your 401K loan back with money on which you have already paid tax, then you will pay tax on that same interest again when you withdraw it as part of your 401K distribution.

He said "compensation". "Compensation" is not limited strictly to hourly pay for all of us.

Um, no. That's part of your benefits package, like your vacation. The market has dictated if companies want to obtain talent, then there's things the employees want before they work here. Company then agrees as part of your pay that certain benefits given.

Feel free to work for a company that doesn't offer vacation, 401k, etc.

Are you just trying to stir up shit or are you serious?

Company matching on 401k plans is a pretty standard benefit offered by many companies. It's considered part of the total benefit package. Just like bonuses, vacation time, and medical benefits. It's not about an employee getting something for nothing, is about the company encouraging employees to participate in company retirement plans.

My last job had a pretty nice pension plan too. No cost to the employee up to $50k in salary, then once you hit $50k you pay in a very small percentage. Is that someone getting something for nothing as well?

                        lmao....

My agreed upon "hourly pay" as you call it... includes my salary, vacation benefits, 401k match, retirement, health benefits, title, bonuses, etc.

Oh yea, I also get free life insurance valued at 2 times my salary. Guess I'm sucking the tit there too?

How is people working for a company and a company rewarding them for that work "sucking off the tit"? Versus the gub'ment robbing me and giving that money to people that do no work at all?

Because that has a whole lot to do with the conversation at hand.
