I am so so sorry to hear that. Drunk driving struck our family on Mothers Day this year. But it was MY aunt that was the drunk driver. She hit 2 innocent people, a preachers wife and 16 year old daughter on their way to church.
I will never understand why she was 2x the legal limit, especially on Mother's Day at 8:30 in the morning. I will never forget that phone call. I thank God that the preachers wife and daughter pulled thru- they have a long road of recovery after rods being put in their legs, broken collar bones, hips, blood transfusions, ect- but they are ALIVE!
My aunt died a brain death- so we were able to keep her on life support and donate her organs to give someone else a chance at life, something positive had to come from this. Something so selfish took her from her family at the young age of 42- it could have been avoided. The mothers day card she sent to me, got to my house the day after mothers day, she wrote " I hope your Mother's Day is full of smiles." Nope...not smiling. I had to bury her. All of it on my shoulders. Still not smiling.
I agree with your post, please if you see someone drinking, DO NOT let them get in a car and drive off. So many people can be damaged for life by ONE STUPID CHOICE. It can happen to you.Last edited by Undertaker; 08-17-2011, 08:40 AM.
