Punta Cana

I know alot of people have been to punta cana...I was wandering if anyone went off the resort to go shopping? If so, where did you go and was it worth the time and taxi charges? We can't find anyone with good enough English to get our questions across lol

We didn't leave our resort area, and the way those fuckers drive, unless the taxi is a cement truck, I'd never venture out in a car!

Stay out of the flea markets that are next to the hotels, every shop is the same as the one next to it.

When we went to PC we went to the market in the early morning. And every shop had the same stuff to sell, plus we had a guy who was shadowing us "following at a distance", so we high tailed it out of there. We did not want to start any trouble and was not looking for any either.

You know it's kind of like the Caribbean version of Amsterdam right? There is a reason you see lots of single American men there and it's not because of the good cigars.

No kidding! I went there last year and was shocked at how reckless ALL of the people drive there, especially the taxi/bus drivers.

That place is pretty third world outside of the resorts. There's DR army guys all over the place in town holding AK's. My resort had a little gift shop area onsite so we did a little shopping there. I only ventured out to do a dune buggy excursion.
