getting a bonded title is easy, fill the paperwork out at the DMV and they will hand you back what you need to contact an insurance agent and they will supply you with the bond, then go back to the DMV.Last edited by War Machine; 08-24-2011, 11:22 AM.

Ahh, the process was never explained. This way has to be cheaper than paying a title company, right?Ded

If you have the title and it's signed to someone else, just go down and get a statement of fact that states that the person that the title is signed to didn't purchase the car. Get the registered owner to "sign" *wink wink* it, then transfer it. Problem solved.

We tried going thru a title company called International Title Services, because after I talked to John on here and a buddy that had also went thru them with no problems. I sent all the paperwork and money. The check was cashed within the week and we haven't heard from him since and we tried daily for about a month straight before we gave up. I heard from a friend about the bonded title route but that it was a pain and expensive but our only choice. The wife had it all taken care of in a few hours and was cheaper than the title company.
A bonded title is easier than most think, just check with your tax office about the forms and costs.

I tried using this lady earlier this year and I was unsucessful. She came highly recommended from a local dealer, but she did squat for me. I would keep your cash and try another route first. Also, she's impossible to get ahold of.

<---------------- owns a title business.
We do bonded title applications all the time. We charge $100-$150 + the cost of the bond. Once you get the packet back from us, its ready to go to your tax office and apply for the title itself.
