I'm not trying to protect the homeowner here, i'm just curious how they ended up at his house and what were the dogs doing for his chief to give the order to shoot them.
A police officer killed while responding to a domestic disturbance in a small eastern Pennsylvania borough had pointed a stun gun at two dogs before being shot, court records reveal.
    Roger that.

Imagine he hadnt shot the cop, but the cop killed his dogs and harassed the guy. Nearly all of you would be preaching about how you would have greeted the officer with a gun, and how you would check the cops authority. You can't play both sides of the fence.
WHAT THE FUCK?!?!? DUDE, just because he's ignorant as to what the laws are, doesn't mean what he did was right or justified on any level.

You don't have to have a fucking warrant when you've been dispatched on a disturbance call. He (the property owner) can't dictate the law as he sees fit, especially when he's the one causing the disturbance that caused someone to call the cops to begin with.

VERY stupid post of yours... VERY

thanks, I needed to re-read it.

Among the items seized were a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun with three live shells, a Marlin 30-30 rifle, a Ruger M77 rifle, a Winchester M94 rifle a Rossi .38-caliber revolver, various bullets and shotgun shells.

A state police search warrant shows the man accused of killing Freemansburg police Officer Robert Lasso was in possession of drugs, guns and other weapons.

George Hitcho Jr. had a handgun, a bullet-proof vest, several live marijuana plants, loose marijuana, a spiked club and a knotted tree branch, three rifles, and a 12-gauge shotgun, according to the paperwork made available Monday.

Hitcho, 46, of 440 New St. in Freemansburg, allegedly shot and killed Lasso, 31, on Thursday night. Hitcho told police that Lasso was on his property, and tried to kill his dogs -- dogs which police said attacked Lasso prior to Hitcho shooting him with a shotgun.

According to the search warrant, William Clancy, of 126 Washington St. in Freemansburg, called 911 at 5 p.m. after a confrontation with Hitcho about how fast Hitcho was driving. The rear of Hitcho's property is accessed by an alley that runs beside Clancy's home. When Lasso arrived, police said, Clancy directed him to Hitcho's home, about 100 yards up the alley.

Clancy said Friday that Hitcho threatened him, and that Lasso saved his life.

Lasso made his way up the alley at 5:06 p.m. and called for backup. Freemansburg police chief George Bruneio arrived at 5:15 p.m., according to court papers, and found Lasso fighting with two dogs in Hitcho's backyard.

Lasso pointed his Taser at the dogs and Bruneio told him to shoot them, police said, but Hitcho then shot Lasso in the head. Police said Bruneio saw Hitcho, holding a shotgun, in the side door area of the home. Bruneio apprehended Hitcho, according to court papers, then returned to aid Lasso and found him lying with blood and glass around his body.

Hitcho told Bruneio that Lasso was trying to break into his home, according to court papers.

Lasso was pronounced dead at 5:42 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill.

State police descended on the home at 10:30 p.m., according to the search warrant, and found a myriad of weapons and a collection of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Among items seized were a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun with three live shells, a Marlin 30-30 rifle, a Ruger M77 bolt-action rifle, a Winchester M94 lever-action rifle, a Rossi .38-caliber revolver, various bullets and shotgun shells, smoking pipes, a bong, three marijuana plants, bags of loose marijuana, a dufflebag full of ammunition, a tree branch, a club, a ballistic vest, keys, a cigar tube full of marijuana seeds, other containers with seeds, a metal tube with white residue, a grinder, a scale, two safes and a Washington Redskins ball cap.

Police said there were several structures in Hitcho's yard, including sheds, a makeshift garage and a tent with a sign that read, "Hillary."

Police also served a warrant at Northampton County Prison and seized Hitcho's pants, socks, boots, pain and congestion medication, $246.18, sunglasses and a money clip.

Hitcho remains in Northampton County Prison without bail.

Also at the Hitcho home was Todd Schaedel, 44, formerly of South Whitehall Township, who police believe witnessed Hitcho shooting Lasso. Police said Schaedel, who has an address in South Whitehall Township, was staying at Hitcho's home.

Witnesses told police that Schaedel told them he saw the shooting, but then retreated into Hitcho's home and refused to cooperate with police, denying he saw anything. He remains in Northampton County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Ok, let's get into character here for just a moment.....

Since you're not an abuser (I assume) this may be hard to grasp, but lets say the disturbance call was because a neighbor hear the screams of a child, or woman. This cop is called out, and met at the door with a gun and two vicious animals.

WHY IN THE FUCK should the cop NOT be there?

I think I would rather have my dog tased than spend the rest of my life in prison regardless of how the situation progressed to that level. Maybe its just me though.

Looks like the castle doctrine in PA was just expanded to people using deadly force in places other than their home too

I'm glad you read again... I was like... WHAT THE HELL!??!!?

My FTP mode is limited to the few that bring disrespect and shame to the badge and the citizens. Also, FTP .... for me... means "fuck THAT policeman" in particular.

The homeless mans death was awful and THOSE cops involved should hang...so for the homeless man I'll say "Fuck THOSE cops that did this to you!"

They confiscated a tree branch, awesome.

I held judgement until I saw the post that the cop was actually directed to the house for a specific reason. The man was wrong.

It all seems pretty strange, especially if you read this:

I don't understand why the guy shot one cop and then surrenders to the chief. Sounds to me like he held a grudge against the cop for busting him previously.

I also find the story about the neighbor kind of strange, him saying that Hitcho "threatened him" and Lasso "saved his life" but that Hitcho was unarmed when the shit with the neighbor went down.

Maybe being a dopehead explains it all.

we'll never know unfortunately and a man's life was lost in the process.

edit: that's a good question, were there not two cops on the scene ? Lasso and the Chief? If he pulled out a gun and shot Lasso as he did, why didn't the Chief put one in him ? Or did the shooting happen before the chief showed up ?

edit2: just answered one of my own questions.
