He is 2 weeks old and his feet are always freezing but the doctor told us that as long as his tummy and chest were warm the baby was not cold.

My wife grew up in the Philippine jungle in a bamboo house with no A/C, 85 degrees year round and a pretty high humidity. Her parents had 5 kids that were raised in the heat, and all 5 of them survived.

If the kid's feet are cold, put on socks. If the kid feels hot, take off clothes. It really isn't rocket science.

Not sure if this was posted but newborn babies love to be wrapped up and WARM. That is why when your lady gives birth and you are still at the hospital they are wrapped up like a burrito. I know atleast for my kid and the first month or so (don't remember exactly) if she wasn't wrapped up and warm (not sweaty warm/hot) but warm, she would cry.

Now, I am not saying suffocate your kid until it sweats bullets but where I am getting at is the kid probably wants socks on its feet. I am also not saying to wrap it up in a comforter and go outside for a stroll..... My daughter was born in August so it was also very hot.

Jose you have to remember that everyone is different when it comes to body temperatures. When I sleep my body temperature sky rockets, but when I wake up even though I am putting off heat like an oven, I'm freezing cold. When my skin is cool to the touch, I'm hot as hell.

If the baby doesn't have blue lips, then don't worry about it. Sounds more like a pet peeve than an actual problem.
yeah he is not blue anywhere not even his feet, they are just cold but the rest of his little body is warm sometimes even hot so we really arent worried about it just debating between the ways we were raised

we have not had a waking up problem from him, he maybe wakes up one time during the night to feed but other than that he is knocked the f out, and the funny thing is that when he doesn't have socks on and we swaddle him with his feet covered he does not go to sleep, but once we uncover his feet he knocks out

Just a couple of reasons why you SHOULD put socks on your baby.

How about a short sleeved footed sleeper and it is kind of like meeting in the middle? That being said; To each their own. My Daughter was born in June and she wore socks...Son was born in February and wore socks plus a footed sleeper. Although, I'm also "insane" due to the fact I put shoes/socks on my kids to go into public when they were tiny.

Jen, is right about letting her figure it out on her own without your mom. Your input is fine, but don't ever start it out with, "My Mom said/thinks" or you will have bigger issues besides socks on the baby. Plus, when she needs it she will go to her mom first more than likely.

Good luck to both of ya! I remember being your shoes 4 years ago and by the time the 2nd one comes you can do it in your sleep.

LOL, core temp of 95 is where hypothermia sets in.
